Selecting a System Platform

Choosing the right system platform is crucial when developing a custom car radio. There are two primary options: Android-based systems and closed Linux-based systems. Android systems are available with quad-core and octa-core processors. Quad-core systems support up to 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while octa-core systems offer configurations ranging from 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Additionally, other customizable features can be added based on customer preferences, such as a 4G SIM card, DSP, digital TV, digital radio, CarPlay, and more.

Determining ID Design Specifications

Using the 3D schematics and installation drawings of the original vehicle's instrument panel, we determine the screen size, appearance, and mounting structure for the car radio's ID design. For example, we evaluate whether the panel should feature traditional buttons and knobs or a fully capacitive touchscreen. We also consider the hardware chassis dimensions (single-DIN, double-DIN, non-standard configurations) and ensure that the mounting holes perfectly align with the original vehicle design.

Based on the space and mounting requirements of the original vehicle's dashboard, we design the corresponding hardware components, such as the metal housing and heat sink.
