Dickcar’s high-definition 360-degree surround view system for intelligent central control displays in cars

The emergence and widespread adoption of 360-degree surround view systems in intelligent central control displays in cars is no accident. With the increasing number of vehicles on the road, especially in congested urban areas and parking lots, collisions and scrapes are common during passing and parking. Consequently, many car owners (especially novice drivers) have come to rely on visual aids for driving assistance. Looking at the configuration of new cars in the pre-installed market, an increasing number of models are now equipped with 360-degree surround view systems as standard. User demand is undoubtedly driving their market adoption.

What is a 360-degree surround view system?

The 360-degree surround view system uses four camera sensors mounted on the front, rear, left, and right sides of the vehicle to work together and use algorithms to synthesize and process the video. This system provides a 360-degree video image of the vehicle’s surroundings, providing the driver with a wider field of view and safer driving!

The Dickcar brand’s 360-degree surround view system offers two key highlights

As a leading automotive electronics company, Dickcar’s team has been developing automotive products since 2013, including its 360-degree surround view system. Since then, we have been supplying 360-degree surround view systems to global automotive distributors. After years of technological upgrades and product iterations, we have developed two key product highlights:

Clearer Images: From analog to digital image signals, from standard definition (300,000 pixels) to high definition (1 million pixels) and finally to ultra-high definition (2 million pixels). Simultaneously, the camera’s field of view has expanded, from standard to wide-angle lenses, paving the way for the development of more features.

More Functionality: In addition to the basic 2D 360° panoramic image display, we have added 3D 360° panoramic images and dynamic front and rear trajectory lines. To make parking more convenient for drivers, we have added a wealth of ADAS features: blind spot monitoring and warning, moving object detection and warning, lane departure warning, and a driving recorder.

Features of the Dickcar brand’s 360-degree surround view system on the central control smart screen

2D/3D multi-view HD experience, no blind spots: The Dickcar brand’s central control smart screen’s 360-degree surround view system uses over eight ultra-high-definition (2-megapixel) wide-angle cameras mounted on the front, rear, left, and right sides of the vehicle to capture real-time images of the vehicle’s surroundings. Software algorithms are used to generate a 360-degree panoramic image, displaying the vehicle’s surroundings. The driver can activate or deactivate the system through various modes, including gear shifting, vehicle speed changes, and user intervention. During operation, the system can be switched between 2D/3D modes, as well as multiple views, including a panoramic surround view, front/rear/left/right independent views, door opening view, and rearview mirror folding view. This gives the driver a clear view of the vehicle’s surroundings and eliminates blind spots.

Precise front and rear dynamic trajectory for easy parking: When the driver is side parking or reversing into a parking space, the system accurately calculates the driving trajectory based on the steering wheel angle and transmits it to the display in real time. Powerful track lines provide precise guidance for low-speed driving and reversing, significantly reducing scratches and collisions caused by inexperienced parking techniques.

Equipped with a rich set of ADAS functions, intelligent protection provides greater peace of mind: Even more impressively, the Dickcar brand car’s central control smart screen’s 360-degree surround view system is also equipped with a rich set of ADAS functions, including blind spot monitoring and warning (BSD), moving object monitoring and warning (MOD), lane departure warning (LDW), and a driving recorder (DVR), providing more intelligent and comprehensive driving safety.

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSD): While driving, the Dickcar brand car’s central control smart screen’s 360-degree surround view system uses the left and right exterior mirror cameras to identify vehicles in the left and right lanes behind. If a vehicle is detected in the blind spot, the indicator light in the corresponding side mirror will illuminate steadily. If the driver uses the turn signal to change lanes in that direction, the indicator light will flash, prompting the driver to adjust their driving behavior in a timely manner, proactively warning and avoiding a side collision.

Moving Object Detection (MOD): During parking and starting, the Dickcar brand’s central control smart screen’s 360-degree surround view system uses image recognition technology to monitor moving objects around the vehicle. When a moving object is detected, it provides timely driver alerts through visual (flashing lights) and auditory (alarm) warnings to prevent accidents.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW): The Dickcar brand’s central control smart screen’s 360-degree surround view system uses lane markings detected by the front and left and right rearview mirror cameras. Combined with the vehicle’s trajectory, if the vehicle deviates from the lane, the system issues an audible warning (with customizable pre-departure time) to prompt the driver to adjust the steering to maintain normal forward movement.

DVR Function: The Dickcar brand’s central control smart screen’s 360-degree surround-view system supports simultaneous looping of composite or single images from all four directions (front, back, left, and right). These images are stored as videos and images (TF card support is available). These images can be synced to the IVI host and viewed on the IVI display, freeing drivers from the worry of being scammed while driving. For road trip enthusiasts, this feature can also capture beautiful scenery.

Summary

In summary, the Dickcar brand’s central control smart screen’s 360-degree surround-view system helps drivers “see” the invisible, allowing them to easily maneuver their vehicles into parking spaces, navigate complex roads, and avoid obstacles, effectively reducing the risk of scratches, collisions, and falls. Furthermore, through ADAS intelligent protection, it effectively detects hidden dangers in advance, ensuring driver safety. Dickcar is committed to “contributing to the development of the automotive electronics industry and enabling every user to fully enjoy a more engaging smart car life.”
